Cet atelier a été spécialement conçu pour les archéologues (en particulier zooarchéologues et paléobotanistes), les paléontologues, les anthropologues biologiques et tous ceux qui pourraient bénéficier d'un enseignement sur l'analyse de la forme.
L'atelier présentera les méthodes analytiques de base pour l'utilisation de données de forme (à partir de la morphologie du squelette ou de grains de pollen) pour répondre aux questions sur les interactions homme-homme, homme-animal et homme-environnement.
L'atelier montrera les avantages potentiels de l'analyse géométrique par rapport aux mesures traditionnelles et son mode d'application dans des contextes archéologiques.

Applications are invited for two Post-doctoral Research Fellowships, part of a project entitled ‘Cultural transformations and environmental transitions in North African prehistory’ funded by the European Research Council.
The project, directed by Professor Graeme Barker, combines the excavation of the Haua Fteah cave in Cyrenaica, north-east Libya, with a survey of Palaeolithic settlement in the region. Both posts will be at Research Associate level and will be tenable for five years from 1 March 2009. The Fellows will have primary responsibility for the landscape component, one with a focus on the Palaeolithic archaeology, the other on palaeoenvironmental reconstruction. A GIS will also be established and maintained.
